The overall fund for the 2019 Award is in the region of €20,000.

Eoin Mac Lochlainn Solo at Olivier Cornet Gallery

Eoin Mac Lochlainn's latest solo exhibition Deireadh Fomhair at Olivier Cornet Gallery explores the effects of climate change and in particular, reflects on the significance of trees. October 21st - November 25th 2018.



Fiona Mulholland Shortlisted to Design RTE Award

Fiona Mulholland is one of the three makers shortlisted to create the awards for the winners at the inaugural RTÉ 1 Folk Awards to be announced on October 25th 2018.



Michael Wann in Claremorris and the RUA

Work by Michael Wann features in Claremorris Gallery's September Group Show, opening September 29th 2018, and his Shadow Fringes has been selected for the 137th Royal Ulster Academy's Annual Exhibition, 19th October 2018 - 6th January 2019.





Isobel Egan and Kate O'Kelly in Denmark

Isobel Egan and Kate O'Kelly are representing Ireland at the European Ceramics Context 2018 Exhibition in Bornholm, in Denmark.


15th September - 11th November 2018.



Sea Change

Damien Flood at Ormston House and IADT

Damien Flood contributed some of his painterly explorations of psycho-geography to the Museum of Mythological Water Beasts at Ormston House. 6th - 27th September 2018.


His work also features in Sea Change, the IADT's 21st anniversary exhibition selected by Oonagh Young and showing at the Municipal Gallery in Dun Laoghaire. 13th September - 4th November 2018.





Ursula Burke Solo at the RHA and The Dock

Ursula Burke's latest solo exhibition The Precariat brings together a body of work that seeks to investigate the experience of insecurity, using all three main areas of her practice: embroidery, porcelain and drawing. At the Royal Hibernian Academy from 7th September - 21st October 2018, then at The Dock Arts Centre from 17th November 2018 - 5th January 2019.




Lillias Mitchell Showcased in National Gallery

Lillias Mitchell, founder of the Golden Fleece Award, features in the National Gallery of Ireland's current exhibition in Room 11 [In]Visible: Irish Women Artists from the Archives showcasing material drawn from the collection of the ESB Centre for the Study of Irish Art. 19th July - mid December 2018.



Ursula Burke on show at Castletown and Dublin Castle

On a Pedestal, an exhibition of portrait busts at Castletown House, celebrates the art of the head with work by Ursula Burke (Golden Fleece Award, 2018) and other talented modern exponents of the tradition. July 1st - August 31st 2018; then at Dublin Castle from September 8th - November 4th 2018.





Geraldine O'Reilly in Great Hunger exhibition

Geraldine O'Reilly's haunting portfolio of photo etchings The Deserted Village features in the exhibition Coming Home: Art and the Great Hunger at the Coach House Gallery in Dublin Castle. This large collection of Famine-related art is on loan from the Ireland's Great Hunger Museum at Quinnipiac University in Connecticut. 8th March - 30th June 2018. Then at Uillinn West Cork Arts Centre, 20th July - 13th October 2018 and at Cultúrlann Uí Chanáin in Derry, 18th January - 16th March 2019.



Siobhan McDonald wins Trinity Creative Challenge Award

Siobhan McDonald has won a valuable Trinity Creative Challenge Award in support of her Future Breath project comprised of a series of enquiries into environmental change. She and the other two winning applicants will work with Trinity College throughout the academic year and will present works in Trinity throughout 2018.
