Ann Quinn Self Portrait at Bourn Vincent Gallery

Ann Quinn's 2012 self-portrait was showcased in REGARD X, an exhibition of work from the National Self-Portrait Collection of Ireland celebrating the contribution of women artists to the collection. Bourn Vincent Gallery, University of Limerick. 8th March - 18th June 2019.




Golden Fleece Artists in DCCoI Portfolio Exhibition

Golden Fleece selected artists shone in Design and Crafts Council of Ireland's PORTFOLIO: Critical Selection 2019-20, including Golden Fleece Award 2019 shortlisted artists Sara Flynn and Nuala O'Donovan. The selected makers were shown in Surface Matters in the Coach House Gallery at Dublin Castle.

Golden Fleece Artists at the National Craft Gallery

The European Prize for Applied Arts exhibition Monumentality / Fragility celebrated the work of outstanding makers across Europe. Ireland was well represented by a contingent of seven remarkable artists, of whom four are Golden Fleece listed: jewellery designer Eimear Conyard, basket maker Joe Hogan, silversmith Coilin O Dubhghaill, and textile artist Caroline Schofield.


At the National Design & Craft Gallery in Kilkenny from 9th February - 23rd June 2019.












Rachel Joynt and Gwen Wilkinson at VISUAL Carlow

Rachel Joynt, Gwen Wilkinson and the other members of the 9 Stones Artists showed The Book Project, a collaborative project between the group and book artist Ciara Healy, at Visual Carlow from 9th February - 19th May 2019.

Geraldine O'Reilly in Great Hunger exhibition

Geraldine O'Reilly's haunting portfolio of photo etchings The Deserted Village featured in the exhibition Coming Home: Art and the Great Hunger at the Coach House Gallery in Dublin Castle. This large collection of Famine-related art is on loan from the Ireland's Great Hunger Museum at Quinnipiac University in Connecticut. 8th March - 30th June 2018. Then at Uillinn West Cork Arts Centre, 20th July - 13th October 2018 and at Cultúrlann Uí Chanáin in Derry, 18th January - 16th March 2019.



Colin Martin & Robert Russell at Graphic Studio Gallery

Prints by Colin Martin and Robert Russell featured in The Works - 30 years of the B&A, a very impressive series of fine art prints produced by Graphic Studio Dublin for Behaviour & Attitudes over thirty years. Aidan Dunne contributed an excellent introduction to the online exhibition catalogue.

Damien Flood Solo at Green on Red Gallery

Damien Flood's solo exhibition The Figure in the Carpet at Green on Red Gallery was accompanied by a new hard-back monograph, also entitled The Figure in the Carpet, containing new work created over the last year together with two new texts responding to the artist's work by Sue Rainsford and Declan Long. The exhibition ran from November 29th 2018 - January 26th 2019.

On a Pedestal, an exhibition of portrait busts at Castletown House, celebrated the art of the head with work by Ursula Burke (Golden Fleece Award, 2018) and other talented modern exponents of the tradition. Damien Flood at Ormston House and IADT

Damien Flood contributed some of his painterly explorations of psycho-geography to the Museum of Mythological Water Beasts at Ormston House. 6th - 27th September 2018.


His work also featured in Sea Change, the IADT's 21st anniversary exhibition selected by Oonagh Young and showing at the Municipal Gallery in Dun Laoghaire. 13th September - 4th November 2018.

At Westival - Westport Music & Arts Festival 2018, 24th - 29th October 2018,

Emma Bourke's Ethnobotany collection was on show at the festival's flagship exhibition Ipseity;

Fiona Mulholland Commissioned to Design RTE Award

Fiona Mulholland won the competition to create the awards for the winners at the inaugural RTÉ 1 Folk Awards to be announced on October 25th 2018.



Jennifer Trouton at CCA Derry-Londonderry

At CCA Derry-Londonderry, Jennifer Trouton showed new work in Lavish and Judicious, a four-person multimedia exhibition exploring aspects of 19th century industrial philanthropy as exemplified by the model village of Sion Mills near Derry. 11th August - 6th October 2018.




Joe Hogan and Nuala O'Donovan at Homo Faber

Both Joe Hogan and Nuala O'Donovan were among the six Irish makers on show at Homo Faber in Venice, a large scale event organized by the Michelangelo Foundation, to celebrate master craftsmanship around the world and its connection to design.

Mary Burke at the Irish Architectural Archive

Mary Burke's exhibition Townscape explores the inner landscapes of twelve homes in Stradbally. Developed in collaboration with sociologist Professor Mary Corcoran, Townscape brought sociology, the community and the arts together in interesting ways. The Maker's Hand Exhibition at the RDS

Liz Rackard Wins Portraiture Award at the RHA

Liz Rackard won the 2018 Ireland-US Council/Irish Arts Review Portraiture Award with her subtly understated diptych Portrait of Eoghan at the RHA Gallery's 188th Annual Exhibition until 11 August 2018.

Chloë Dowds wins RDS Craft Award

Chloë Dowds received one of the five valuable (10,000 €) 2018 RDS Craft Awards for emerging makers. The awards were presented on 20th June 2018.




Drawing on Joyce at Olivier Cornet Gallery

As one of the 30 finalists in this year's Loewe Craft Prize, Joe Hogan's entry Homage to the Tree was on show at the Design Museum in London. The outright winner was Scottish potter Jennifer Lee. Exhibition ran 4th May - 17th June 2018.

At Rochester Art Center in Michigan, Eamon O'Kane showed new work inspired by the ideas of architect Frank Lloyd Wright in his solo exhibition Ìntimate Expansive together with an updated version of his highly successful installation Froebel Studio: A History of Play. 18th January - 27th May 2018

Garvan de Bruir was one of the ten Irish designers selected to showcase contemporary Irish fashion in New York at the WearingIrish NYC 2018 event programme. 15th - 17th May 2018.



Sylvia Hemmingway Exhibiting with BlackStack Studio

Conor Walton Winner of ModPortrait 2017

On February 27th 2018, Conor Walton was announced the winner of the 2017 ModPortrait Prize in modern portrait painting. His prizewinning painting The Key will join the collections of the MEAM (European Museum of Modern Art) in Barcelona.



Claire Kerr at espacio artkunstarte in Madrid

At the espacio artkunstarte in Madrid, Claire Kerr was showcased in the exhibition A Meeting Point: Communication/Translation, where she collaborated with Colombian artist José Antonio Suárez Londoño in a series of artistic exchanges that paired their creations in playful and surprising ways. 23rd February - 27th July 2018.



Michael Wann Solo at Custom House Studios

At Custom House Studios in Westport, Michael Wann had a solo exhibition, Achill Notes, of new drawings based on a two week residency he spent at the Heinrich Boll Cottage in 2017. 23rd February - 18th March 2018.




Eoin Mac Lochlainn & Yanny Petters exhibiting with OCG

At Vue 2017, Ireland’s National Contemporary Art Fair at the RHA in Dublin, Olivier Cornet Gallery and their artists presented 2° C, a group show on the theme of climate change, supported by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The exhibition subsequently moved to Olivier Cornet Gallery, where it featured a programme of workshops and seminars in collaboration with the artists and the EPA.

Eoin Mac Lochlainnn and Yanny Petters both contributed new work to this exhibition.

2nd - 5th November 2017 and then in an enlarged format at Olivier Cornet Gallery from 16th December 2017 - 15th March 2018.





Laura McMorrow at Leitrim Sculpture Centre

At Leitrim Sculpture Centre in Manorhamilton, Laura McMorrow's multimedia exhibition The Lost Acre appropriated archival landscape imagery in depictions of other-worldly encounters where the everyday is haunted by memory, anxiety and humour. 9th February - 3rd March 2018.

Sara Flynn Shortlisted for the Loewe Craft Prize

Sara Flynn was one of the 26 finalists out of some 4,000 artists worldwide who entered for the first annual Loewe Craft Prize. The winner, woodturner Ernst Gamperl, was announced on April 10th 2017. An exhibition of the finalists' works toured in COAM Madrid (11th April - 9th May 2017), Chamber Gallery in New York (30th May - 6th June 2017), Paris (September 2017), Tokyo (November 2017), and Collect Contemporary Craft Fair at Saatchi Gallery in London (22nd - 25th February 2018).



Mick Minogue in Kilkenny Animated Festival

Mick Minogue and fellow local artist Dan Leo created an extensive gallery of street art and graffiti in Kilkenny's Abbey Quarter for the first Kilkenny Animated Festival of visual storytelling. 23rd - 25th February 2018.
