Siobhan McDonald wins Trinity Creative Challenge Award

Siobhan McDonald has won a valuable Trinity Creative Challenge Award in support of her Future Breath project comprised of a series of enquiries into environmental change. She and the other two winning applicants will work with Trinity College throughout the academic year and will present works in Trinity throughout 2018.



Joe Hogan Finalist for the 2018 Loewe Craft Prize

Joe Hogan is a finalist for this year's Loewe Craft Prize, one of 30 makers chosen from across the globe. The finalists' work will be put on show at the Design Museum in London in May, when the 2018 winner will be announced. Exhibition running 4th May - 17th June 2018.



Chloë Dowds with Ceramics & its Dimensions in Berlin

Chloë Dowds and the other winners of the 2017 Future Lights competition are showcased in the Ceramics and its Dimensions. Shaping the Future touring exhibition which runs at Bröhan-Museum in Berlin from 28th January - 22nd April 2018.






Eamon O'Kane Solo at Rochester Art Center

At Rochester Art Center in Michigan, Eamon O'Kane is showing new work inspired by the ideas of architect Frank Lloyd Wright in his solo exhibition Ìntimate Expansive together with an updated version of his highly successful installation Froebel Studio: A History of Play. 18th January - 27th May 2018



Gillian Lawler in Molesworth Gallery Winter Show

Work by Gillian Lawler is showcased in the Molesworth Gallery's Winter Group Show featuring the work of gallery and invited artists. 15th January - 23rd February 2018.

Una Burke in NDCG Hi! Fashion Exhibition

Leather bodywear designs by Una Burke are showcased in the Hi! Fashion exhibition of fashion from Japan and Ireland at the National Design & Craft Gallery in Kilkenny from 12th August - 12th November 2017; then touring at Farmleigh Gallery in Dublin from 1st December 2017 - 29th April 2018.



Sara Flynn Shortlisted for the Loewe Craft Prize

Sara Flynn was one of the 26 finalists out of some 4,000 artists worldwide who entered for the first annual Loewe Craft Prize. The winner, woodturner Ernst Gamperl, was announced on April 10th 2017. An exhibition of the finalists' works is currently touring in COAM Madrid (11th April - 9th May 2017), Chamber Gallery in New York (30th May - 6th June 2017), Paris (September 2017), Tokyo (November 2017), and Collect Contemporary Craft Fair at Saatchi Gallery in London (22nd - 25th February 2018).

Sara Flynn with Loewe for Miami Art Week

Sara Flynn was selected as one of just three artists whose work is featured in the Loewe Foundation's third annual Chance Encounters exhibition which celebrated Miami Art Basel 2017 by bringing together artists from various disciplines in order to explore unexpected conversations. 4th December 2017 - 4th February 2018.



Frances Ryan in Solomon Fine Art Winter Show

Frances Ryan's paintings featured in Solomon Fine Art's Winter Group Exhibition. 24th November 2017 - 27th January 2018.



Michael Wann with Green Fuse Gallery in Westport

Michael Wann had work on display in Green Fuse Gallery's Christmas show in Westport. 7th December 2017 onwards.



David Eager Maher Solo at Oliver Sears Gallery

Sean Lynch's latest solo exhibition Devil in the Detail ran at Ronchini Gallery in London from 23rd November 2017 - 20th January 2018.





Golden Fleece Artists at Ceramics Ireland Exhibition

The unique creative telents of Isobel Egan, Sara Flynn and Nuala O'Donovan were on display at Ceramics Ireland's Touchstone exhibition celebrating the organisation's 40th anniversary.

The exhibition showcased the work of 36 selected makers of and from Ireland. Farmleigh Gallery, Phoenix Park, 18th June - 30th September 2017; National Craft Gallery, Kilkenny, 18th November 2017 - 21st January 2018.

Among the works by Golden Fleece listed artists selected for show at the Royal Ulster Academy of Arts Annual Exhibition (6th October 2017 - 7th January 2018):

Bob Johnston at Leeds Craft Centre

Bob Johnston's willow animal heads were showcased at Leeds Craft Centre and Design Gallery's exhibition celebrating their 35th anniversary. 4th November 2017 - 6th January 2018.



Gerry Davis at South Tipperary Arts Centre

Gerry Davis's paintings featured in Art of the Heart, a group exhibition showcasing the work of Tipperary artists at South Tipperary Arts Centre. 1st December 2017 - 6th January 2018.



Frances Ryan in HeArt of Hope exhibition in Belfast

Frances Ryan contributed work to the HeArt of Hope exhibition in aid of Northern Ireland Hospice at Crescent Arts Centre Belfast. 15th - 22nd December 2017.



Conor Walton with Arcadia Contemporary in California

Conor Walton's work appeared in a group exhibition at Arcadia Contemporary in California. Sponsored by digital magazine Poets/Artists, it showcased work by 30 international figurative artists. 2nd - 13th December 2017.



Jennifer Trouton at the Lavit Gallery

Jennifer Trouton's paintings were showcased in the Lavit Gallery's Molesworth Gallery Artists exhibition in Cork. 7th November - 2nd December 2017.





Paul Mac Cormaic Solo at Axis Arts Centre

Paul Mac Cormaic had a solo exhibition The Secular Icons running at Axis Arts Centre in Ballymun, exploiting the concept of Orthodox and Byzantine icons to take a wry look at 21st century Ireland. The show ran throughout the month of November 2017.




Carol Hodder and Michael Wann at NOA 2017

Both Carol Hodder and Michael Wann had work selected for the 2017 National Open Art Exhibition of British and Irish contemporary art, showing at Bargehouse Oxo Tower Wharf on Southbank, London, from 17th - 26th November 2017.





Conor Walton Solo at Chimera Gallery

Conor Walton's latest solo exhibition Rapt and Unwrapped showed at The Chimera Gallery in Mullingar from 4th - 25th November 2017.

Siobhan McDonald's environment-themed installation A Change in the Signal - Crystalline was on view at Highlanes Gallery in Drogheda. 7th October - 25th November 2017.






Emma Bourke and Suzannah Vaughan at NCAD Gallery

Works by Emma Bourke and Suzannah Vaughan, plus the inspirational Róisín de Buitléar (former Chair of the Golden Fleece artist advisory panel), were showcased at the inaugural Ireland Glass Biennale exhibition which ran at NCAD Gallery from 27th October - 13th November 2017.












Eoin Mac Lochlainn & Yanny Petters with OCG at VUE

At Vue 2017, Ireland’s National Contemporary Art Fair at the RHA in Dublin, Olivier Cornet Gallery and their artists presented '2° C', a group show on the theme of climate change, supported by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The exhibition subsequently moved to Olivier Cornet Gallery, where it featured a programme of workshops and seminars in collaboration with the artists and the EPA.

Eoin Mac Lochlainnn and Yanny Petters both contributed new work to this exhibition.

2nd - 5th November 2017 and then at Olivier Cornet Gallery from 16th December 2017 - 15th February 2018.






Cristin Leach on Joe Hogan and Ann Quinn

in October 2017, works by both Joe Hogan and Ann Quinn were selected by Cristín Leach for her 21st Century Ireland in 21 Artworks series of articles for RTÉ Culture.

Frances Ryan's latest solo show, Garden of Delights, was on display in the Georgian Gallery at Ards Arts Centre from 6th - 28th October 2017.




Nuala O'Donovan & Isobel Egan in Collins's Barracks

Nuala O'Donovan and Isobel Egan were among the six Irish ceramicists selected for inclusion in the Shadow of Sodeisha exhibition of Japanese and Irish art in clay at the National Museum of Ireland - Decorative Arts & History in Collins's Barracks in Dublin. 31st March 2017 - 31st January 2018.
